Our winning candidates Andrea Turner, Steve Waterfield and Andy Hixon with Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen
South Tees Conservatives were delighted by the fantastic results of the local elections on Thursday 6th May. Local members gathered at the Community Heart in Redcar long into the early hours to witness the election of three excellent new Conservative councillors in Andrea Turner, Andy Hixon and Steve Waterfield. Steve and Julie Hart were also successful in the Guisborough Town Council by-elections, making it a clean sweep of victories for STCA. We wish all of our hard working new councillors all the best as they represent their wards.
More was to come on Friday as local member Steve Turner was elected as Cleveland's first ever Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner. We are sure he will bring much needed strong leadership and Conservative values to Cleveland Police. Later, a landslide victory was confirmed for Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen in his successful re-election campaign that STCA had backed to the hilt. Ben can now continue his excellent work in bringing investment and jobs to the Tees Valley. Many thanks to all our local volunteers who contributed to this success.
These results show the value of team spirit and hard work, and alongside stunning victories in the Hartlepool by-election and across the North East show that we Conservatives are leading the way for local voters. We are already looking for candidates for the next round of elections, keen volunteers and even just members who want to share the success.
