This years Local Elections were a success for Conservatives in both Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland.
In Redcar & Cleveland, we went from holding six seats to holding twelve. In Middlesbrough, we gained one seat meaning we hold a total of four. Given the national picture, this was a very positive result.
Naturally, we'd like to pay tribute to the following Conservative Councillors who lost their seats - they served their communities well.
Cllr. Andrew Hixon - Guisborough
Cllr. Steve Waterfield - Hutton
Cllr. Craig Holmes - Skelton West
Cllr. Lee Holmes - Skelton West
Cllr. Andrea Turner - Longbeck
All five will hopefully be back on the Conservative benches in the Council Chamber.
The result in Redcar & Cleveland means the Conservative's are now the official opposition Party on the Council.
